KO4SMX – Southeastern Virginia

I will be on 20 meters FT-8 tomorrow starting around 1600UTC. The power connector on the back of my FT-991a is kind of broken and sunken into the radio, so I gotta be careful with that until I can open the radio to fix it. Also, my Bioenno batt is still chugging along, powered up, since I charged it 2 weeks ago. Below is the batt that I am using in my radio shack. This was ordered July 4th of 2023. I have never had any problems with it, even with all of the temperature extremes I have put it through. Hot summers and cold winters in the trunk of my car!

Also, below is the antenna I am now using. I use it mainly for portability to different sites.

The “micro” TDL is rated at 100watts SSB Phone and 25watts full duty cycle. I really don’t push it to the max and am usually around 20 watts or below, in a digital mode like FT-8. Here it is in action in a family member’s back yard…
